Mombasa?
I’m leaving for Kenya in roughly one week. I’ll be abroad for four months. That’s quite exciting, isn’t it?
If you’ve been in or around my life over the past few years, you might know that this will be my second time in East Africa. That first time, over two years ago, I left with just the experience or knowledge that a handful of church service trips to Latin America had left me. Now, I’m leaving with both the memories of that trip as well as a couple years of college under my belt. This will most certainly be an interesting semester.
This post could drag on for several hundred more words, so I’ll keep things brief: I’m extraordinarily excited about the next few months of my life. I’d be thrilled if some of you could watch this space and share a bit of my experience with me. I’ve been blessed in crazy ways over the past 21 years to have such an incredible cloud of witnesses surrounding me as I’ve shuffled through life, and I can’t imagine this next chapter in my life without y’all.
So anyway, I’ll try and fill this blog with thoughts, pictures, and funny stories about me being awkward in Kenya. Should be fun!
with love,
Worth
P.S. This post should have been titled “Obligatory ‘Holy Crap I’m Leaving’ Soliloquy”, but I thought I’d be a bit more subtle than that.
